Mother and Child Portrait Studies
Two very different approaches to the same subject. The first is tight and unexpressive in terms of color and application. The second is vibrant and rich with bold brush strokes and complimentary color. There is the contrast of lights and darks that give the work presence. It is so insightful to the evolution of an artist to be able to compare works done at different time in their career.
