Like so many farm buildings you would see along the highway. The railroad tracks run on the other side to load produce or cattle. So many lay dormant due to the changing economy where huge corporate farms have replaced rural family farms. These building have been left to weather with time. The highway, rails and telephone lines are the veins of the society, rural or urban. The farmers are the bones. It is the story that goes along with the picture.
This is a fine example of Dick’s pallet knife technique. The bold red sky is complimented by the red in the ground and this helps balance the work.
