A place a long time ago...

This painting was of a view of the back yard at the east-north corner of the lot, underneath the magnolia tree, where the swing-set stood until it rusted out.

Untitled, Geraniums and Step Ladder, 9x12, Framed, Signed by Burg, Courtesy of Peter Burg.

Here is the swing set that we enjoyed.

You can see the Magnolia tree leaves on the right.

We were practically the only house on the block in 1952.

The Burg House was on two thirds of an acre. It was a large lot in comparison to the neighboring lots. There were an array of plants and trees there, elm, eucalyptus, magnolia, acacia, pine, redwood, apricot, peach, pear, lemon, orange, fig, avocado, artichoke, bougainvillea, fuchsia, geraniums, jade, ice plant, fern, honey suckle, oleander, roses, and more.
